Difference in SEO for NoFollow UGC and Sponsored Link

internal link for website

Internal and external link are a fundamental part of SEO. They specify Google or other Search Engine which path to follow and which one to not follow.

Links are used to send users to either internal pages or article or external. With Internal link between pages or article on your website you are guiding the user to keep him on it. With External link your are referring to another website.

Overtime you will want to explain links to the Search Engine like nofollow, sponsored are ugc.

  • Nofollow link tell Google to not follow the link
  • Sponsored are used to tell Google That the link bring him to a paid article
  • User Generate Content

Specify those links give you some control other the Search Engine, but keep in mind that Google Do whatever he wants most of the time.

DoFollow Link

A regular link like dofollow link is use to tell Google to crawl the link and so give it ranking credit. the HTML structure is this:

<a href=”https://www.mywebsite”>articles</a>

Having this category of link on your website, you can expect the Search Engine like Google to crawl it. It is a standard link for Google. You will notice that in a dofollow link you do not have to add the attribute rel=”dofollow”, basically Google understand a dofollow link when he do not see any nofollow or sponsored attribute mentioned on the link.

In netlinking a dofollow link transfer all the page rank from the website doing the link to the website recieving the link.

NoFollow link

nofollow link are mostly used if the user do not want Google to crawl the link. You have to use rel=”nofollow” in that case. The HTML structure is :

<a rel=”nofollow” herf=”https://www.mywebsite.com”>exemple</a>

When using this parameter, you are telling Google that you do not want him to give ranking credit to the link. For exemple for SEO juice when you have link from a website to yours and it has a “nofollow” attribute on the link it does not mean that no juice or Page Rank is going to be transfered with link, but less then with a dofollow link for sure.
