What is EEAT?

E-E-A-T stand for (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness). Before it was just EAT until Google updated it in December 2022.

E-E-A-T is the new guide version for the Quality Raters, those are real people that analyze the SERP Quality to give feedback about it and so improve the way Search Engine Algorithms work. 

This new version of the E-A-T comes with an E for Experience. Time to Time Google update is document gathering information for its Quality Raters.

EEAT is not a direct Google signal for ranking. But it can definitely help you improve your trust towards users and so Google, so it is important for SEO purposes

What is the Experience?

Experience is what is behind content on a website. You will write an article talking about a specific subject showing your expertise on that matter. This way you build trust. You Show that your feedback is tried and tested so your suggestions are authentic.

Expertise

Often people misjudged expertise and experience, the two concept are different. Search Quality Raters Guidelines determine if you have expertise within your field with the topic you talk about. That mean:

  • Do you know your Topic: do you use specific terms related to the topic
  • Credential require to deliver that information

For example if you take accounting.

You read an article. If the author of the article is a Chartered Professional Accountant you will trust their judgment and so the article. 

Or you just read a blog about a person talking about her real life Taxes experience. She will provide you insightful feedback about how to fill up a taxes, wich taxes you have to return and why?

Those people will use a specific vocabulary to talk to you about finance, taxes, T4 slip and others.
