What is Thin Content?

A Content that provide poor or no value is called thin content. Lack of content do not solves the user’s query intent. It is only misleading the user query in order to rank.

This bad signal for Google Search Engine can lead to a drop of ranking, penalties and so affect negatively your website.

Why website Author create thin content?

Back in the past people were using keyword stuffing to super charge their content in order to rank high on google. And with Google caffeine update it became even easier to create low quality content value that is useless for user. so usually one website create multiple low quality content to do it in bulk to be fast index 

This lead Google to create Google Panda to remove those law value content from the SERP

With Google Eat that became EEAT in 2023, the new E is for expertise. Google decided to level up the expectation towards content.

Google always update his algorithm to remove as mush as possible Thin Content, Duplicate content, Law Quality Content. It started with Google Panda and penguin and now with Th new EEAT the search engine expect you to show expertise in your content in order to trust you as news source

Therefore Thin Content will be harder to rank on Google

To fix Thin Content you have to enrich your content, show your expertise as in EEAT. You have to prove Google that you are worth Trust and you have knowledge and experience in your field
